HRM.  TEGHENCHA IX (Late) – Clan Head Meta

The Meta Heritage Foundation (MEHEFO) is founded upon the unwavering commitment of the Meta Clan Head, HRM. T. T. T. TEGHENCHA X), and the entire Meta Clan to safeguard and protect its shared heritage and foster collective development and progress. It is established to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Meta people, originating from the WIDIKUM tribe in Cameroon’s Northwest Region.

Guided by the principles of unity, solidarity, and development, MEHEFO aims to contribute to the well-being of the Meta indigenes at home and beyond.

 Vision: To be the leading force in preserving and promoting the Meta cultural heritage while driving sustainable development within the Meta Clan.   

Mission: To unite the Meta people, foster cultural preservation, and empower community members in livelihood development, through education, economic empowerment, human development initiatives and infrastructural development. 

Values: MEHEFO is guided by the following core values: Preservation of Heritage, Unity, Solidarity and Accountability.

Objectives

  • Preserve and promote the cultural heritage and sites of the Meta Clan.
  • Collaborate with the Meta Fons in upholding the values and virtues of the Meta Clan
  • Foster unity and solidarity among the Meta people by organizing special events under the auspices of the Clan Head.
  • Support the socio-economic development of the Meta Clan.
  • Promote research and revival of Meta indigenous knowledge and development.
  • Protect the territorial integrity of the Meta Clan
  • Promote conflict resolution, conciliation within the Meta clan and litigation where necessary.
  • Collaborate with other organizations to enhance the well-being of the Meta people.
